First, consider as a human then provide rights
As if today the gender spectrum is restricted to two extremes either male or female. The majority population accepts these ideas as true and lives according to the physical and mental construction the society made for isolating the third gender. their cultural values are not cherished. British view them as criminals and our westernized India has forgotten their importance in epics and historical kingdoms of India. So for the sake of them, the government had implemented many protection laws as human rights which lead to the protest of transgender activists. Punishment for rapist of transgender is from 6 months to 2 years whereas a person who raped women is considered more serious and punished from 7 years to lifelong. Providing gender identity certificate for the third gender is also a dehumanizing measure by government towards them. These human rights that violates their human values and which increase their vulnerability should be abolished for their effective participation in public spheres.
